第十七届国际内分泌大会（ICE）盛大开幕：沙画+梁祝+京剧，满满的中国风情！

     披着晚霞的光辉，第十七届国际内分泌大会(ICE)暨中华医学会第十五次全国内分泌学学术会议于2016年8月31日在北京国家会议中心拉开帷幕。随着梁祝的浪漫韵律响起，既往历届ICE盛会的举办城市以沙画的形式呈现在观众眼前，不禁勾起与会者对往届ICE的唯美回忆......

     ICE是由国际内分泌学会主办的国际性学术会议，每两年召开一次。本届ICE共有来自全球76个国家的专家学者参与，其内容包含大会报告、专题报告和讨论、病例讨论、专家见面会、论文交流及中青年英文演讲比赛等。真可谓干货满满，大咖云集!

     此次开幕式由解放军总医院母义明教授担任主持。大会主席宁光院士在开幕致辞时，首先对各国参会学者表示欢迎，并表示——本届大会旨在对最新及最具争议的临床问题寻求共识，同时也将呈现内分泌领域最前沿的研究进展。宁光院士指出，随着中国经济的快速发展，内分泌及代谢性疾病增长迅速，需尽快寻求解决方案。

     著名专家学者陈家伦教授，致力于内分泌及代谢疾病的临床和科研工作长达60余年，在推动中国内分泌事业发展的同时，也极大促进了国际内分泌与中国内分泌学会的合作。基于此，国际内分泌学会和中华医学会内分泌学分会特别授予其杰出贡献奖。

     陈家伦教授表示，此次会议是中国学者得以进一步提升的契机，同时也预祝各位外国学者在北京度过一段美好时光。

     会议最后，与会专家学者共赏了国粹京剧表演。

     ICE Gives Endocrinologists from 76 Countries a Warm Chinese Welcome

     The 17^th International Congress of Endocrinology (ICE) kicked off in grand style today at China’s National Convention Center next to Beijing’s Olympic Green with Chinese cultural presentations and rousing speeches. ICE represents the world’s largest biannual gathering of endocrinologists from around the world. The event also marks the 15^th annual meeting of the Chinese Society of Endocrinology (CSE), which is co-hosting the event known as ICE/CSE 2016 Beijing.

     With an artistic swoosh of a sand painter’s hand, ICE/CSE 2016 Beijing President Guang Ning opened the 4-day conference that aims to aims to spread scientific and educational excellence through international exchange to promote the field of Endocrinology.

     “Our goal is to agree upon answers to some of the latest and most controversial issues, and to present some of the most important cutting-edge developments in research and advancements in endocrinology,” said Guang Ning. He noted that endocrine and metabolic disease is rising rapidly in China with the country’s fast economic development, and put out a call for solutions.

     Paul Stewart, the Secretary Treasurer of the International Society of Endocrinology (ISE), which puts on the event throughout the world, also warmly welcomed the guests, noting that ISE now is comprised of 70 endocrine societies representing 50,000 endocrinologists worldwide. He said participants will enjoy an outstanding program with a broad cross-section of endocrinology topics over 4 days in 11 plenary sessions, with 60 panels delivered by world experts from 28 countries.

     At the event, renowned endocrinologist Jia-Lun Chen, was given the “Award of Excellence” in appreciation of his valuable lifelong contribution to the successful collaboration of the international and Chinese endocrine societies. Dr. Chen established the link between China and International communities in endocrinology, and has played an important role in the promotion of endocrinology in modern China.

     “It’s a great opportunity for Chinese endocrinologists to learn the latest research and information, and I wish our colleagues from around the world a great time in Beijing,” said Dr. Chen.

     The joyous event was capped off by a Peking Opera Troupe performance of traditional cultural Peking Opera favorites, to the thrill of the audience.
